The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G6 16.1MP Digital Camera is a Micro Four Thirds DSLR-styled mirrorless compact cam featuring a 16 megapixel image sensor. It has OLED viewfinder, a fantastic high resolution 3-inch free-angle LCD screen, new-generation Venus processing engine and ultra-sensitive “night-shot AF” mode too.
This camera significantly improved movie capabilities. For example, full exposure control, an external microphone socket and the sensor from the GH2. It also adds the NFC-aided WiFi for simple remote shutter control and image download. Wi-Fi can also be used to setup auto backup of photos and video to your computer.
The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G6 16.1MP digital camera has a number of improvements and updates over the Panasonic Lumix G5. This including a new OLED electronic viewfinder, low-light AF and built in WiFi. As well and a panoramic mode that was not available on the G5.
The microphone socket is at the front under the rubber cover there . It is like a compact DSLR, with a good rubber hand grip, as well as textured rubber grips at the rear and on the left side of the camera. So not surprisingly the Panasonic LUMIX G6 is slightly higher priced than many DSLRs (it looks like paying a very slight premium here for a device that looks a bit like a DSLR). Also there is a hotshoe for accessory attachment such as an external flashgun, though the pop-up variety is also included here.
