The Nikon Z50 21.5MP Camera features a large 20.9 megapixel DX CMOS sensor and a powerful EXPEED 6 Image Processor. The power of the sensor and processor, coupled up with Intelligent Eye-Detection AF and 209 AF points across the frame allows for edge-to-edge sharpness and detail in your photos and videos. Capable of 4K/UHD recordings at 30p and 20 in-camera effects, this camera offers a whole host of creativity and versatility.

The Nikon Z50 is a good, but not exceptional, debut for Nikon’s Z mount APS-C mirrorless system. It has great handling, good shooting speeds and autofocus, nice image quality and solid video performance. Mirrorless cameras have the advantage of usually being lighter, more compact, faster and better for video, but that comes at the cost of access to rarer lenses and accessories. For DSLRs, advantages include a wider selection of lenses, generally better optical viewfinders and much better battery life.

Consequently, the average Nikon DX-format DSLR users will be happy with the feel of the nikon Z50, it’s not adifficult little camera and there’s a good-sized grip. The Nikon Z50 feels fairly solid. Its front and top plates are made from metal and it’s weatherproof to the same standard as the Nikon D7500 the Nikon Z50 does not have in-body image stabilization. Along with the Nikon Z50 come two new kit lenses. First is the collapsible Nikkor Z DX 16-50mm F3. 5-6.3 VR, which offers up to 4.5 stops of image stabilization and has a built-in control ring.
